The Protestant Democratic Alliance is a movement on The Zimmer Twins which started in August 2014, to make significant changes to several issues in the ZT Community and several policies of the ZT Administration. The movement was originally started by rad256 but many ZT Users have since joined. It disbanded in February 2015 after the end of its 2nd term.
In 2013, a Moderator Inactivity Crisis affected ZT as there was a significant decrease in blogs, spotlights and updates created by the Moderators. On November 11, 2013, Blahbumian phone-called ZT Headquarters (also known as zinc Roe) to talk the inactivity, and they answered that the company that used to fund them (Teletoon and QUBO) stopped funding them a long time ago and they don't have the resources to update the websites as frequently and as effectively as they did in the past. They also noted that this situation will continue for an indefinite amount of time, however, minimal moderation will still exist on the website, including features such as blogs, spotlights and Must-Sees. In July 2014, rad256 and several other users decided to create the movement to get the ZT Moderators to be more active on ZT. After minimal success, the movement was disbanded half a year later.
During the 1st term (August 2014 - November 2014), the PDA had 19 members including managers. During the 2nd term (November 2014 - February 2014), the PDA had 16 members including managers. The 3rd term was supposed to start the day the movement disbanded, but sign-ups were held and very few people signed up.
Platform and IdeologyEdit
The movement has been described as "liberal". It wants to give more rights to Non-VIPs, by lowering VIP prices and allowing them to edit movies and have a few more VIP clips. They want users to partially decide on the website's future via referendums. It also wants to encourage more tolerant attitudes towards LGBT users (and others considered "different"), and secularize ZT. It wants the moderators to be fair when picking Must-Sees.
The Protestant Democratic Alliance has been subject of some controversy among Zimmer Twins users. Some users have doubted that the movement will work, and a few have disagreed with its policies. Some users who oppose the PDA are catboy, Surfer45, MegaGamer1 and formerly Stormrox.
