Regardless, I wanted to talk about things that I think ZT needs to do if they want to remain relevant for the forseeable future.

Of these things, they include redesigning the website layout, and updating the movie maker/player, as well as the site's expired SSL certificate.

The updating of the movie maker/player would be the highest priority. Why? As we know, ZT uses Adobe Flash for the movie maker and player. The priority for this is critical, because Adobe will end development and distribution of Flash in 2020.

If they do not upgrade the movie maker and player by then, the site will be permenantly broken. And with only two years until the death of Flash, they don't have much time. Why do I say this? As an example, GoAnimate announced they would be converting to HTML5 and other newer standards on October 19, 2015, but they only released their new video maker in closed alpha on December 14, 2017.

Of course, the site design is an eyesore. I mean, when was the last time websites were only displayed on the left side of the page? For my city's website, the last year the site was on the left side of the page was 2007, but I think that was a late example. It is now 2018, and the ZT site layout still looks the same. Have they ever heard of "centreing" and responsive websites?

Lastly, the SSL certificate needs to be renewed. Apparently, the site was last listed as "Secure" in March 2017, and is now listed as not secure, meaning hackers could steal your username and password as you were logging in. Also, having an SSL certificate will give the site better search results on Google, because Google prefers secure websites.

Yeah, think I'm some dumb 13-year-old trying to terrorize the ZT population, but all of this true. I did my research beforehand.

One more advantage of converting the movie maker and player is that it would allow the site to work on mobile.

Until next time,
